So today we are going to talk about a service that has surprised me a lot. This service is named Dropbox and it is truly made for people who have a lot of stuff scattered along differents PCs or hard drives or even smartphones and never gets to find anything when they need to.
If you are a little of untidy person with your personal data and files, this for sure will be the service that will do for you and will make you get all your files sync and organize as you always have dreamed.
The point of dropbox is to act as a box that remains in the Internet and that helps you have all your files in only one common place. So then once you have uploaded all your files into you dropbox account, you will have to download the client that will help you to sync your files from the Internet box into your computer and you can do this with as many devices as you like.
The catch here is that the storage space obviously is not unlimited, the free account only gives you 2 GB, then also exist a pro 50 and a pro 100 which gives 50 and 100 Gb respectively and cost $10 and $20 monthly.
A good new about it is that just the 16th got out the version 1.0 of the dropbox client, which apparently has huge performance improvements and cosumes less memory that it used to. It also has the feature of selective sync, so you don’t have to sync things you don’t even need.
I really have not tried the dropbox 1.0 in my ubuntu yet, but hopefully I will after Christmas to tell how good it goes.
